How many people get in each year?  I figured it would've been more than 9...

Also, out of curiosity, what was your audition program?
Interested in discussing:

-Prokofiev Toccata
-Scriabin Sonata 2

my program was:
1. Bach : Prelude and Fugue no. 2 bk.1
2. Beethoven: Sonata no. 21 in C "waldstein" and
    Mozart    : Sonata in F K. 533 (i gave 'em a choice...they preferred to hear beethoven)
3. Chopin: Nocturne in E op. 62-2
                 Etude op. 10#12
4. Liszt: HR 6.
I'm just guessing that they might choose 3 people this year (since there were only 3 faculty members at the audition: Lipkin, Sokoloff, Grafmann).
Well, I took a picture of the list of finalists (in fact, everybody followed suit after I did it!)
and there was a 13 yr old girl among the applicants ..not sure if she made it to the finals though...i have a feeling that she might have.

Guildhall is a great place, I got a scholarship for piano this year, but choose not to go. I'm off to royal college of music instead. I dunno if I would like such a small department, I like to meet more people and get I felt royal college was better, even though its a much bigger department in comparison to guildhall. I felt it had better facilities at RCM, and more concerto oppurtunities, and also I was amazed by some of the students there when I auditioned, Liszt B minors and huge pieces coming from practice rooms, and at open day this amazing girl played prokowfiev 3rd concerto in masterclass I I liked the teaching stlye, so thats why I choose RCM over guildhall. And RCM is in a much much much niver area of london.
