Mehlin Upright Grand - Need Info
on: November 04, 2003, 08:17:15 PM
Hello forum...

I recently acquired a Mehlin & Son upright grand/inverted grand piano and wondered about its age and history. I can't seem to find much info...

Mehlin & Son
Factory Location: New York, New York

Serial Number Dates: 1885 - 1960

History:

Mehlin & Son began producing pianos around 1885 and continued until 1960. The company was associated with Winter and Company, which was itself eventually controlled by Aeolian Piano Company.

My piano has a label at the top of the harp stating:

  Mehlin
   26329
Patent Grand

I assume this is the serial number. Any idea on age?

Thanks!

Thanks "Pierce".

1907 is pretty old and it's in nice shape... especially if it really is that old.

Thanks for the reply Bob.
