Greetings.

The key to better sightreading is sightreading. Pick a pice that is a easier then the pieces that you currently work on and sightread them. Hope this helps.

What exactly does sightreading mean? To play the piece from the notes directly?

Er... yeah I think I get what you mean. You simply play music directly while looking at the sheet music.
That's the price you pay for being moderate in everything.  See, if I were you, my name would be Ilovepie.  But that's just me.

I write a lot of piano music, and have been doing this for years. I do it because it is fun for me, but when I am done with a piece, I am left with the question, what to do with it? The main use I can think of has been "pleasant material for sightreading practice" or "supplemental off-beat piano lesson literature". So, right now I am still trying to attract a publisher, and I have my own website where 15 of my pieces can be downloaded for free, as either pdf documents of mp3 audio. The site is called "New Standards for Piano"....my music is composed in "standard song" form, typical of the first half of the 20th century. Maybe I will give up on the quest of finding a commercial publisher (this has been going on for years) and just self-publish through the internet. What a lot of work, but if it must be done....

it means playing music by reading music notation, or sheet music.  Its a skill that takes time to fully develop :P  But genrally, the more you surround yourself by the world of music, the quicker your sightreading skills will develop.

Buy a volume of realized chorales by Bach, you'll find healthy range of material in there to keep you busy for a few months :)
