Mario Marianelli Perceived by Classical aficionados
on: April 03, 2006, 02:35:33 AM
Wondering what our friends in the piano forum think of him.

He made the music for Pride and Prejudice. A film for women only I guarantee it.

But I have a 14 year old Daughter and that is all I hear about lately.

The music is really good in my opinion.

Wondering how he is perceived by classical aficionados of the piano forum.

My daughter wants to learn it all now, although she was quite disappointed to find out it was not real music ?????

I guess if it is not from the masters, it does not count as music.

ahhh, to be young...

The Pride & Prejudice soundtrack was composed by Dario Marinelli and is available at sheetmusicnotes.com website, and Amazon is releasing the published version of music (Hal Leonard).  I guess it is very popular with young women, both my 13 yo daughter and her music teacher love some of the pieces (although they are very short)!  The piece Dawn was downloaded by my daughter, who plays at advance level, and it was not difficult for her-she could play it in a couple of days.  It's just for fun-she plays it for friends and family-definitely not challenging nor considered by her teacher to be considered competition worthy material.  But she will play it for her spring recital workshop as a little encore piece for fun. Regards, lani
