girl with flaxen hair.  there's lots to think about, many ways to mess it up (none of them technical) very wonderful if you get it right.

I've never seen "La fille Au Cheveau Lin" written in english... hmm...  I really enjoy hearing that one.  Le Jardin aux pluie or something like that is very impressive and I found pretty easy just sightreading.  Not sure if that's a prelude.  Worth looking though!

"Jardins sous la pluie" is not a prelude; it is in the set of pieces entitled "Estampes." It is a quite advanced piece, although sightreading slowly through it may not give a it the impression of being difficult.

Easier Debussy preludes include book I "Footsteps in the Snow" and "Fragrances and Sounds Mingle in the Evening Air", and from book II "Bruyeres," and "Canope". While these pieces may be simpler in terms compared to other Debussy's pieces, they still require a delicate touch and immaginative treatment. The Debussy preludes are beautiful pieces; hope you enjoy playing them. :)

Debussy est l'une des plus pures gloires de l'art musical.
Most of Debussy's preludes are easy to sightread- And it is funny to see this thread because I scanned through the book today. Bruyeres, La Fille aux Chevaux de Lin, Danseuses de Delphes, and Les sons et les parfums tournent dans l'air du soir are probably some of the easier ones, maybe even La Cathedrale engloutie, which I attempted to sightread today. Ministrels is not too big a challenge either. The longer ones are usually more difficult. If you take a look at them, they follow the usually "Debussian" pattern. The introduction, then the middle section-usually composed of fast scales or patterns, and a figuration at the end. Rythms usually get me in Debussy. Those ties can be confusing.  8)
Don't be grounded to the Preludes, there is a lot to play in Debussy's repertoire. Estampes, mentioned above, is a great set. His Valse Romantique is quite romantic! And his Nocturne is quite delightful.

I've learned two of them, both from book I. La fille aux cheveaux de lin (girl with flaxen hair) and La cathedrale engoutie (the holy cathedral). I found them both to be easy. Another one that shouldn't be too difficult is Danseuses de Delphes (Dancers of Delphes).

Fille au Cheveux de Lin, Cathedrale Engloutie (technically, but Cathedrale is probly harder to perfect)
Interested in discussing:

-Prokofiev Toccata
-Scriabin Sonata 2
