Problems with student
on: June 23, 2002, 05:00:05 PM
Hi all.
One of my students, a 12 year old girl, hates playing the piano though she's really talented. Her parents are forcing her to play, but I don't see any sense in teaching her- it just makes her unhappy.
Talks to the parents failed- does anybody have an idea how I could help that little one? The situation seems to be worse for her than for me.
Thanks guys.

Sorry, I didn't see that.
But the problem has already been solved. I introduced her to composing, and she got really into it. Ok, she just started, but she already analyzed some inventios by Bach by herself and tries to learn all the old elements of style; I told her that she'd also have to play these pieces to completely understand them. And guess what
She finally started practising and is doing a good job. I hope that'll continue like that.
