I am using Beethovens Op.48 No.2 Sonata as an example, but i've heard this elsewhere too. Basically I am wondering what the theoretical explanation is for the notes i've circled in red. When these bars are played, the notes in red make a very nice transition indeed. I have a feeling that Beethoven didn't just choose these notes because they sound nice, but that they have a basis in music theory. If this is correct, could someone please explain the significance, thank ya From 1st MovementFrom 2nd Movement
