I need you opinion (Beethoven experts)

Please explain your reasons

Thanks in advance
The masterpiece tell the performer what to do, and not the performer telling the piece what it should be like, or the cocomposer what he ought to have composed.

Im certainly not an expert, but I can say that Op90 has one or two seriously tricky passages in the first movement. Generally this movement isnt to hard, you'll probably spend more time trying to sort out these isolated passages as you will learning the entire piece.

Also bear in mind that its only two movements, hence less material to learn.

IMO, the Op. 90 sonata is somewhat deeper than the variations and needs some interpretation and musicality. It is not as if it is one of the later sonatas, but i don't think it is harder than it sounds
Also, i think always variations are easier than complete works because you can always divide it into smaller chunks.

imho: technically, about the same level. overall, the variations were more difficult for me because they are so short, and so different, thus requiring many and fast changes of mood and state of mind. (then again, maybe that was difficult only for me)

I agree with anda.  I am currently finishing up the variations, and they are difficult because they are so short, and the mood changes so sudden.  Also, because they all have to go the same speed (you'd think this makes them easier, but NOOOOOO), they can be quite difficult, depending on which one(s) you are playing.  Note:  the "easy" ones are the ones that will nail your butt!
