It's a video for me...the video cuts off right when he's about to play an encore, hence the prolonged clapping. Very nice, video, btw.

instromp, you must lack the codec to decode the video part of the file.

Ok I am going to download this. I wonder if it is Chinese classical music.

[edit]

Sounds like western music to me.

Horrible applause. They really should practise it more. I can't understand what is aesthetically pleasing about it. Just doesn't sound right.

Here is the score for the piece, if any body would like it.

Although... Yundi Li seems to play a slightly different version, and oh, there is a pretty obvious mistake in one of the right hand chords. So use your aural skills, and fix it =D

Try DivX.

https://www.divx.com/divx/play/download/

I can't be sure if it would work but I expect it will.

Yes. There're two misprints in the score provided here. In measure #28 and #127 the RH chord should be Bb-D-Bb. Yundi Li played correctly. The score is wrong.

i think Yundi Li managed some stuff badly in that performance. if you listen to a recording of that work by him, you can see he's smudged some tones, hit 2 notes instead of 1, etc. in that concert.

And Kony - Thx soo much for the sheets.... I have to learn this sometime when I'm good enough. Unfortunately it's too hard for me.

And yea, Yundi Li makes a few mistakes, bu I stille think he's a great pianist!!

Andrewg - Is it the first or second chord which should be Bb-D-Bb??

Just some background information :):

It states that Chairman Mao was the sun and the workers were the sunflowers. The workers would always follow and support Chairman Mao.
The song (it was a song) was written during the cultural revolution. It said that Mao was the sun and the sun gave life to the people. This was mainly sung by the farmers as Mao's policies greatly benefited China's agricultural economy.

I'm a huge of Communist songs, Soviet or Chinese.

Capitalism never produced good music, only Britney Spears.

The oppression of Communism, on the other hand, gave birth to the stirring tragedy of Shostakovich and the biting sarcasm of Prokofiev. And great Chinese songs about the Red Sun and Dearest Chairman Mao.
