Video with Cziffra - Where to find?
on: April 26, 2006, 02:58:39 PM
Hi...

Most of you have probably seen the video with G. Cziffra playing Gnomenreigen, Grand Galop Chromatique and so on..
If not then this is the link to Gnomenreigen:
&search=cziffra

This video clip is from a full movie. But I can't find that movie anywhere. So if anyone knows anything about this video (Or other videos with classical music and / or Cziffra)
Please post a little comment.

Greetings  ;)

I have that DVD

It's from the EMI classical archives series.

Contents:

Chopin:
Heroic Polonaise
Impromptu No.1
Scherzo No.2

Liszt:
Hungarian Rhapsody No.6
Trascendental Etude No.10
Gnomenreigen
Valse-Oubliee No.1
Grand Galop Chromatique

Franck:
Symphonic Variations

Bonus:
Benno Moisewitsch plays Liszt's transcription of Wagner's Tanhäuser overture

Anyways, you can find the GGC video in Altavista: video seach: liszt or cziffra (can't remember)

I also have the Art of Piano, it's documental about the most important pianists of the 20th century.

There aren't many complete pieces, but they're lots of chunks from complete videos, wich you can find on the EMi classical archives.

The complete ones are:

Julian Jacobson - Liszt: Trascendental Etude No.1 "Preludio"
Josef Hofmann - Rachmaninoff: Prelude in C sharp minor
Sviatoslav Richter - Chopin: Etude Op.10 No.12 "Revolutionary"
Vladimir Horowitz - Horowitz: Variations on a theme from Carmen
Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli - Scarlatti: Sonata in B minor

I forgot to mention Liszt's Valse-Impromptu on the Cziffra DVD.
