A compositional form map of Brahms 1?
on: April 30, 2006, 04:31:27 AM
Does anybody know where I could please obtain a map of the form, themes, connections, etc. for Brahms' Piano Concerto No.1 in D minor, Op.15? Does such a chart exist on the net?

i haven't found a form 'map' yet, but found this whilst looking for one:
www.georgetown.edu/faculty/prw/AMSCC/2000Spring.html
scroll down to where it's talking about brahms 1st pc. mentions a 'harmonic confrontation' of sorts between the orchestra (tension) and soloist (tonality). i thought that was interesting because i've always enjoyed the brahms pc, but never knew exactly why. there's an element of expectability, i guess.
