ok, anyway, agreed with pianistimo - nothing on your list will do (i mean, you can choose anything on that list, but then you'd have to change the mozart), except maybe the haydn sonata, but i don't think that qualifies as "hot".

what i think would work: bach-busoni chaconne, or bach - partitas 2/6 or english suites 2/4/6 or the chromatic fantasy & fugue, or maybe haendel - chaconne con variazioni (the 62 variations one)

anda, same with pianonut, you suggested good pieces, but again it has to be from the list. now, that you mentioned the haydn, i am leanning towards this work. it can well be a "viennese classics" concert.

u think alborada be good to open the concert? just a 7 minute work and is followed by a 25 min mozart concerto?

lambada del grazioso!--LOL. it couldabeen the sexiest classical work in the whole literature, u think? it could make bolero sound grannidull....

dear tds,  your idea of 'hot' is funnier than mine.  haydn?  yes, he was a hot composer alright.  (*thinks about springtime in philadelphia and the animals proliferating in the country.  it's cute to see a gaggle of geese, or fawns, little bunnies, we have it all).  it's extremely beautiful here.  everything is muti-shades of green - with contrasts from various fruit trees and all.  people like to garden here - so there is a lot of color everywhere.

I think it's a very good idea! Classy program: haydn - mozart - beethoven.

brahms' handel is so big and takes the whole world onto itself. i need a smaller work that quite dramatic and catchy, and most importantly a work that ushers the audience to the mozart. haydn hob XVI/32 is prolly the right one.
