mp3sugar.com music download site in Russia?
on: May 10, 2006, 03:05:54 PM
I discovered
www.mp3sugar.com
last night. It's a Russian music download site, and credit card payments are accepted through a financial group in the Netherlands, Chronopay.
I searched the Internet to see if I could find any bad comments on this site -- and all I found were people asking the same questions I have -- are they legal? will I get into trouble buying from them? will they rip off my credit card number? On several forums I visited the answers to all these questions were "no."
So I'm asking here in case anyone knows anything about this company.
They have tons of highly desirable classical recordings for $0.99 an album. A lot of it is older stuff (like all of Schnabel's Beethoven sonatas, a lot of Horowitz and Richter, etc.), but some of it is quite new, like Uchida's Debussy etudes.
The only difficulty is that tracks have to be downloaded one at a time (there's no batch download) so it's a little slow, but at these prices...!
Anyone know anything???

I have never heard of it, but the mention of "credit card" and "Russia" in the same sentence would be enough to put me off.
I would not touch it with a barge pole as we say in England.
