Electronic tutor.....

I hope you don't mind me posting this here, I promise not to make a habit of it.   But this forum seemed the most appropriate place to ask a question of the teachers here.

I started way late learning piano (30) but I've been practicing consistently (daily) for two years now and am quite proud of my progress.

Presently, I take a lesson every week.   I think I am advancing in sight reading and other technical skills more so than I am developing rhythm.   I have played duets with other students and recognize that this helped tremendously in this regard.   I would like to duplicate this process and have seen these midi devices that run off a floppy drive.

I have a Yamaha P120 and would like to use this device in concert with the "piano" I have.   Assuming this is technically possible (it has MIDI jacks, so I will assume so for the moment), would you all think this is a good idea?   Which models would you suggest?    Heck, what are they even called (I've been at a disadvantage because I tried to do a search about them on a search engine but didn't really know what they are called.)   In fact I did a search on this forum under "tutor" and "midi" but didn't see anything relevant (so I hope I'm not rehashing some old topic)

Anyway, I'm new here, but am blown away with this board.   Thanks in advance.
