Beethoven Op. 27 No. 1
on: May 22, 2006, 10:43:57 PM
How hard is it?  I've heard some recordings, and I like it a lot.  I expect this to be a long term project (a few months to do the whole sonata), but I want to know if I have the level of skill.  I'll list what I've played:

Chopin Waltz Op. 42
Rach Mom-Mus Op. 16 No. 4
Beethoven "Pathétique" Mov. 1 and Mov. 2
Some pieces of Partita No. 3 in Am by Bach

I'm learning Chopin Scherzo No. 2 in Bb Minor, it's very fun to play.  Do you think I can handle this Beethoven Sonata?

In a word: Definitely. Especially if you find Scherzo #2 fun  ;D
It all happens on Discworld, where greed and ignorance influence human behavior... and perfectly ordinary people occasionally act like raving idiots.

A world, in short, totally unlike our own.

If you can handle any of Chopin's scherzos I'd think you'd be able to manage this sonata.

This is a pretty ridiculous thread if you ask me. If you have the ability to play the Chopin Scherzo I think you should be able to look at the score to the Beethoven and find out yourself.
