I can't recognise what it is but to me it seems an improvisation.
Currently learing:
- Chopin: Ballade No.3
- Scriabin: Etude Op. 8 No. 2
- Rachmaninoff: Etude Op. 33 No. 6
- Bach: P&F No 21 WTC I

It's not improvisation, for sure!!
I heard this composition many times, it is very popular..
Wel, this part I recorded is not so representative, but most of you heard this composition for sure..
To bad that I did not record the begining, but I hope that someone will recognise this....

Its hard to hear but I don't think it is an improvisation. It sounds too ordered, powerful, for it. I mean, the pianist holds back in a very sensible way, catching up momentum. That is hard to do when improvising.

sounds like an improvisation to me.  If nothing else you could just write it out by ear, it isn't tonally complicated.  Just a couple of suspensions.
