Little confused about Venetian Boat Song
on: May 29, 2006, 04:31:52 PM
I'm guessing plenty of you know you answer lol, but as I don't have any recordings I'm really not.  Mendelssohn's venetian boat song, is it from songswithout words? Are there more than 1 or is just movements of the same piece? I have music for Op.19 No.6 so I'm just trying what exactly it/they is/are as people seem to like them, thanks.

There are more than one.  They are from Songs Without Words
The masterpiece tell the performer what to do, and not the performer telling the piece what it should be like, or the cocomposer what he ought to have composed.
