So, a very special person to me is having her Sweet Sixteen on Saturday. Now, I would like to play "happy birthday" on her piano for her...but I don't want to do some cupcake thing. When Marvin Hamlisch came to town, it was a friend of his birthday, and he played Happy Birthday in the style of Mozart, Beethoven, and Rachmaninov.
I was thinking of arranging something, like a Bach fugue or a Chopin nocturne (make it minor?) or in the style of Shostakovich (add minor 2nds?), but I'm not sure if I'll have the time to pull something off by Saturday... and this means a lot... I want it to be good!
Does anybody have sheets/know of an impressive version of Happy Birthday? it doesn't even have to be Liszt-crazy type, but something not so ordinary!
Thanks --- and Happy Birthday to Giulia P. 5/31/06
