Its difficulty relative to other better known concerti, I suppose.

How would one approach this piece? Does anyone know where I could find a recording? How hard is each movement? Does it have an ABRSM rating?

So... I know its very similar to the Chopin concerti. How difficult is it musically and also technically? What solo pieces and/or concerti would help prepare for it?

Also, has anyone played it?

(might be a good time for arensky to make an input. Maybe he knows something)

to the best of my knowledge it's way easier than chopin concerti

i did not play the concerto but i had a look at the score and didn't find it very demanding.

I read through it years ago, it's a similar difficulty level as the Grieg, Schumann and Gershwin Concerti.

I write a very good Concerto, don't you think?  ;D

Yes, you do.  :)

Hmm, do you think I could learn this soon? To give an idea of where I stand, here's what I'm learning now:

Bach Dm Concerto
Bach P&F Fm Bk.I
Grieg Sonata
Schubert Impromptu in Gb
Mozart C minor Sonata
Rachmaninoff G#m prelude 32-12

What would I want to play beforehand to get a grip on the musicality and technique? I have never heard or played any of Arensky's music before, so I suppose some of his other works would be a good first step.
