blenders
on: June 01, 2006, 01:23:59 PM
as usual, my mind is flitting from a question about what to bring to music conservatories - to smoothies and summer drinks.  then i combined the two and thought - hmmm, maybe students should bring a blender to school so they could make quick breakfasts for themselves.  for me, i wasted a lot of time walking to and fro from the commons.  think of the extra time you could sleep in - if you just made a shake and then went to class.

ok. here's the other thought (since that was a few years ago and people sometimes skip breakfast altogether).  i found this smoothie/summer drink best recipies cookbook and find this particular drink attractive.  share you own if you feel like it, too!

rockin rasberry refresher

1/4 c fresh or thawed rasperries
2 tablesp. frozen pink lemonade concentrate
1 c club soda

1. place rasberries and lemonade concentrate in blender.  cover and blend at high speed until smooth.  add 1/4 c club soda and blend until mixed.

2. pour remaining 3/4 c club soda in a tall glass and pour in lemonade mixture.

well, you could put some vodka in it too.  the tamborine ringing won't bother you will it?  it'll be some sort of middle eastern dance.  the thing is, my leg has been acting up.  i went to the honda dealership and tried out a smaller version of the pilot and as i was getting out knocked my right knee against the knob that sticks down to make the steering wheel adjust.  of course, i said 'it's nothing' (trying not to hobble away) and later that night was wondering why i was back at square one with the stairs.

anyway, my middle eastern dancing is one legged.  i used to have a friend in alaska (actually, i think she's still my friend) who took one of those classes.   they have these bangles around the waist -(eliminating the need for the tamborine and replacing them with little finger castinets).

they had a red one right in the middle of the floor.  i thought, hmm, that's my daughter in 5 years.  i think my son likes the ridgeline truck.  it has the same chasse as the odessy that we currently have.  the trouble is that we need a second car that will hold four people at least and five at the most.  basically, i want the newest odessy (black leather seats front and back!)  unfortunately, it's probably out of our price range for second car.

my dream is really the second odessy, though, because then everyone can get their bikes in the two vans.  one will hold two adult bikes easily.  but, my kids bikes are almost as big as ours (excepting the four year old) and we've not been able to take all the bikes at once.  hmm. maybe i'll just keep pining for the van and asking to look at it over and over - and my husband will give in.
