Music Schools in Japan
on: June 09, 2006, 05:51:28 PM
I've been researching conservatoire-level music school in Japan, since there is a possibility for me to get a scholarship to study there. Does anybody have more detailed information about the situation there (good teachers, good opportunities, etc...)?

Thanks,
Mig

Three days ago I heard something about new language restrictions being put on visas. Now I am not sure if this also applies to student visas. But many you will need to take a language test to maintain or even get a student visa.

Why would you want to go to Japan to learn about classical music? I mean, western teachers went there to teach music. Japanese students come to the western world to learn western music. It's a bit like going to japan to study english. Now I am not sure if Japan has produced its fair share of native teachers or not but it is something that appears a bit unnatural.

Well, as I mentioned, I may get a juicy scholarship... Plus, I've heard that there are a lot of russian teachers.
