on: June 12, 2006, 03:15:52 AM
Hi! Friendly forummer  :)
I'm taking piano lesson as a beginner. I own a yamaha lu90pe... :-[
Need help here...a friend had given up a piano yamaha M-108T(10 years old & a broken key-need repair/tuning) to me for free
but I needed to pay for the tax(38%) and transportations it back to my country.
My problem is...Whether this piano worth it or not... I dunno the condition of the piano or how much it its worth in the market or how much its needed rapair??

The dilemma you escribed is a question of depreciation.

Do you think that now the Yamaha is 10 years old, it is worth more than 62% of the new price less transportation costs less maintenance costs.

Yamaha's are usually good piano's that last much, much longer than 10 years. How many years will this piano continue to work or: what would the value of the piano be at this moment
How much does a new Yamaha piano cost?
How high are the transportation costs?
What are the maintenance costs?

If you can answer the questions above, you can calculate if it would be avantageous to accept this offer.
