except for thigh high flooding in some areas - south florida's ok.  we're glad!  used to live in the high desert and when it would fill up the street - to make the kids feel safe we used to have life jackets and a little kids boat.  that was only 10 inches one time.  can't imagine really high waters.

I've been in floods where the water was up to your waist. I enjoyed it. I was too young to think of damage. I just went crawfishin'

Do you like Houston, Boliver?  I was born there. My parents moved away when I was about four.  We lived in Shenendoah, near Old Town Spring.

We have typhoons on our (Asian) shores. You call them hurricanes. And no, we do not have a typhoon season here. Typhoons are known to occur round the year, January to December.

At this moment we are expecting a very close - almost direct hit - by a Category 2:

I'm glad I live in The Netherlands.

Here, we never really have hurricanes, typhoons or earthquakes (well, sometimes a really small earthquake). Sometimes we have some little floods here and there, due to heavy rain, but most of the time you'll only get wet feet with those kinda floods. :P

Oh well then I'm glad I live near a typhoon-active shore like Hong Kong. I am a born and born-again storm chaser. The unleashed fury of Nature is too exciting. The mere anticipation of an approaching powerful typhoon is already enough to send thrills all through my spines. Just can't have enough of them!
