Ravel, Menuet Antique

Again, the classical side of Ravel's music.  A very early work, the Menuet was composed in 1895 and published by Enoch in 1898, dedicated to Ravel's friend, the pianist Ricardo Vines.  Vines premiered the piece on April 18, 1898 at the Salle Erard in Paris.

The "Menuet Antique", composed in 1895, was probably Ravel's first published character piece , preceded only by the "Seranade grotesque" (which he did not authorize to be published in his lifetime, and appeared posthumously in 1975).  The minuet is the first piano solo example of Ravel's classical bent in composing and foreshadows some of his harmonic techniques as well.  It follows A-B-A form.  Comments welcome.
