I am looking for Barber solo piano music that is around Grade 8 ABRSM.

Also, does anyone know if there is a solo version of souvenirs?

Thanks

Yes, but I am wondering which of these pieces are around Grade 8, and also, since souvenirs was originally for piano duet, does that mean it is the not the original piece?

For example, I want to play Souvenirs for an audition, but didnt know if I would be allowed because it is a transcription.

maybe his nocturne (homage to john field) would fit your requirement. i dont know how this grade system works, so i may not be able to help properly. can you provide an example of what a grade 8 ABRSM piece is? i have practically all of his solo piano music (which isnt much) and i may be able to help.

Glad you are looking into Barber's music. The Souveniers were written for either solo or 4 -hands. The Nocturne might be above the leval 8. The challange of the voicing, the double notes, the contrapuntal section may be above you at this point if you are comparing them the the Schubert and Debussy. Take a look at the Excurtions--look over 1,2, and 4. # 3 has many rhymic challanges and leaps. pick 2 for contrast---there are many recordings to choosr from now. look for the complete piano works. Best of luck to you.
