Great performance, but just a small gripe.... why do so many artists hesitate at the start of the big F# run (m.25 and the repeats)?  It sounds so much better to just run through each of the three phrases at the same tempo with no hesitating or rubato.  Even though his hesitation is slight, the "easing into" this phrase is enough to ruin the non-stop motor that makes this main theme so exciting.

Seems like the only one who does it like this is Jablonski.

in case people didn't notice, there are other YL recordings on the 'tube. They are listed on the page with the 1st scherzo quoted above. The other scherzi are also good, (esp. the middle section in the 4th) and I like how he he goes increasingly psycho in La Campanella
