What one thing does a high school need to do in order to win competitions?
Is it necessary to physically win over the judges?
Does a student need to emote like Lang Lang?

Personally, I think it would be a great thing to have if it is natural...
What is more important for the judges would be playing the right notes, and have a good interpertation and feel for the music...
most of the time judges are probably studying the sheet music, and writing down notes. Thus "looking" good physically doesn't matter that much...
