Fantasie C Sharp Minor (Composition)

This is a short piece composed and perfomed by me very recently. Hope you like it.

Greetings.

Wow, I can really see the clear comparison in your composition style. Very good meditative, brooding quality, almost like a chant, or a survery of a though in my opinion. Certain sections sound extemporaneous in composition, hence the given name, fantasy. I like how you sometimes deviate from the given tonality by an alien note, but then return to the original key.

I think that you have a greater sense of form in this composition, despite of the fantasy name. Interesting because your other compositions that I have listened to, let drift into new areas, whilst this one kind of stays in the same position, with a few changes such as the arpeggiated passages towards the end of the piece.

Mysterious..haunting...eerie....sad....then fades out..That what i get from your composition, this doesnt means it's bad its great .this would sound nice over a ghost story

It doesn't really suit as a music to a ghost story to me. It is more like an Indian music to me, very pastoral, ideal for environment.

ur only playing a six note scale - right?  so instead of C sharp minor - ur actually in a mode.

No I am not playing a six note scale. though some accidental notes introduced make it sound like a mode.  It would be really  interesting if you actually say "I only hear u play 6 notes on the scale" ha..that would be hard to defend: what u hear is what u hear. because I actually wrote this with notes of  C Sharp Minor(melodic) and for harmonic reasons added with diminished 2nd (D Natural) , Augumented 4th (G Natural) and
major 3rd as well. I can post the sheet music  if u like (I have some more work to do on that, its not really well readable now)

interesting sound.  not one that i've heard much before.  quite new sounding and a blend sort of - of a modal sound and harmonic sound.  poulenc kind of did this.  he was definately into a bit of organum and renaissance music and still kept diatonic keys in some of his music.  very open sounding.

Thanks Pianistimo! So are u referring to the composer Francis Poulenc? never heard of him before, kinda curious, so I read his biography, sounds very interesting. I am going to listen to his pieces, thanks
