Napoli Suite (Poulenc)
on: July 09, 2006, 07:21:28 PM
Any opinions on these 3 pieces by Poulenc?
Can someone who plays the Mendelssohn Rondo Capriccioso play the Caprice Italien?
If you have played it, can you give any pointers or places to look out for?

Who do you think is the best Poulenc interpreter?

Thanks.

as to the second question - poulenc.  (but he died unfortunately).  grant johannesen?  i don't really know. must ask my teacher sometime.  i think that someone who is able to question everything and play with wondrous awe.  leif andnes also comes to mind as a pianist i would like to hear play poulenc.  does he have any recordings i wonder?  i guess i see second pc that he played - and pascal roge is another pianist.  not sure whose the best among all these.

ok - after looking into this - pascal roge is continually sold out at wigmore hall and places like that (and his list includes poulenc).
