I just started getting interest into Chopin's etudes since they don't look so scary to me anymore. Does anyone have a recording of themselves playing it at tempo or just a good tempo to start with?

um...no. I haven't played it.

But I also don't believe 25-8 is the best place to start with the Chopin etudes. How long have you played and what are you playing at the moment, so I can take a stab at where would be a good place to begin?

I just started working with the Chopin Etudes and I've been only been playing for about 6 years. Which one should I start on?

Well, I began with 25-1. It's usually one of the entrance-level ones, but if you want something more:

You can go by the subjective 'grouping' I posted in Reply #5. That should give you a good rough idea.
