composition competitions?
on: July 17, 2006, 01:46:57 AM
Hi all,
I am a new poster here. I ran across this forum while searching for some Volodos stuff on Google. I am a pianst/composer, and I am always looking for composition competitions on the internet. So far, I have only found one. A really small one that I enter at music-scores.com when they have it. I love to enter these competitions as it gives me some motivation, and it is good practice. Does anyone know of some good composition competitions to enter?

Dear,
For the Queen Elisabeth Contest (Belgium) for piano, every four years the organisers are looking for a brand new piece. The next selection will take place in 2010. You can try to have some information from composers, I know there are a few of them that are really 'into' competitions. I'll try look up some names and mail them to you within a day.
Kindly,
