Which Debussy's piece is your favorite. Whose performance of it would you recommand to listen?

I agree with Mr. Thorn: there are too many wonderful pieces by him. Anyway, the Preludes are Debussy at its most. I don't know which is my favorite recording, maybe the one by Arturo Michelangeli. Ah! Artur Pizarro played all Debussy and I heard it in the BBC3 broadcast: amazing! Not sure if he recorded yet but I hope so. And there is a CD by Andrei Diev that is quite good.
Best wishes!

For me, it's Pagodes from Estampes and his Ballade.  They're both awesome.

I love the Estampes and Reflets dans l'eau. of course there are many more favorites. As far as the best performer...I strongly feel that Zoltán Kocsis  is the best. He has some Debussy only recordings and are very high quality.   ;D ;D ;D

here's some biograhical info on him:

La Fille aux Cheveux de Lin from preludes 1 is one of the sweetest piano pieces I've heard.

My favorites are the Etudes, and my favorite performer of them is Pierre-Laurent Aimard.

There are few Debussy pieces I dislike, but my favourite of them all would be the Suite Bergamasque.

Favourite Debussy pianist is probably Gieseking.

No end of favourites for me! I find that if I pick out almost any piece of his and listen to it properly (that is, not playing as background music), I'll love it instantly! Plus the pieces I've played always remain stuck in my memory as big-time favourites: Bruyeres, Jardins sous la Pluie, Doctor Gradus ad Parnassum, Arabesque no.1.
Actually, one that strikes me as particularly quirky and amusing is the "Gollowog's cakewalk" from the Children's corner, just as a rather peculiar one, but otherwise no preferences because I love them all!

Poems of Ecstasy – Scriabin’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

The great early 20th-century composer Alexander Scriabin left us 74 published opuses, and several unpublished manuscripts, mainly from his teenage years – when he would never go to bed without first putting a copy of Chopin’s music under his pillow. All of these scores (220 pieces in total) can now be found on Piano Street’s Scriabin page. Read more
