Music CV
on: July 31, 2006, 04:33:44 PM
Hi, i have made a CV before but not a music CV. i was wondering if anyone can give me a few tips on this. also, do conservatoires require CVs or personal statements for the applications? if it is a personal statement, does it focus solely on music, or is it like the personal statements submitted to universities? i already have one from my university applications, but it is more focused around engineering, but i can always alter it if it is similar to doing a music personal statement.
does anyone know any good website for this subject?

My X piano teacher gave me her CV, if i remember correctly, it includes all relevant music qualification and the institutions they were at, for instance Dip in theory Dip in practical, plus further qualifications piano related for example degree in performance. The cv may also include the names of past and present teachers, and any concerts or competition enterd. This CV will usually include what he/ she will teach and what he/she will demand from student , this is also tailerd for each individual student, ie those that are pro and those that are amature. Finaly the Cv will include price time and availability and rules of conduct.
Well thats the basics, good luck.

I'm thinking of attaching a repertoire list to mine - of things that I have performed in public or an exam.
Do you think this is a good idea?
