Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 1

Snippets of this performance from three years ago. I was a junior in high school so forgive the big mistakes. The audio and video are off!! I don't know how that happened but I'm too lazy to fix it, so just listen and try not to watch! Haha.
Also, my accompanist couldn't really play it... I got him at the last minute so forgive his part too.

I don't know this piece very very good, but it seemed a bit messy to me. Maybe it was the second piano who played sum wrong notes to. Although, I founda performance from yu on youtube, a beethoven sonata, and i liked it more.

Edit: I really liked your Shostakovitch.
Edit²: How difficult is this concerto? How many pages? I liked it a lot. Was it the first or the second piano concerto?

i could also post it. I sound sooo terrible (and slow) compared to his recording but it gives a good idea of the music and whose part is who. It's hard to differentiate between the solo and orchestral reduction if you don't know the piece that well.

edit: if I were to play the piece today, it would probably sound like a whole different person, as I've matured more than I can say in the last three years.

The concerto is pretty difficult, at least, techinically it has a lot of challenges. In terms of Prokofiev piano concertos it's probably tied in difficulty with the first two mvts. of no. 3, but not as hard as Nos. 2 or 5. It's an amazing piece. I've attatched the public domain sheet music below. Enjoy.

This seems very hard. How long did you worked on that. Will you ever perform it with a real orchestra?

I don't remember exactly how long I worked on it... I think it was a couple of months to get the whole thing memorized and up to quality. I hope one day to perform it with an orchestra. At least for now it's in my repertoire in case I'm ever called on it to be played again!

How difficult is the shostakovich?

The shostakovich is almost as difficult but in a different way. I would say it's a bit easier... the only reason it's hard at all is because it DOES NOT FIT THE HANDS IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM.
