i found a video: my 1st recital (2003) - hahaha!
on: August 18, 2006, 04:26:06 AM
hi guys! i just came across a video in my archive which i almost forgot about. since i started playing the piano at 14 years old, this was my first experience of a solo recital ever, year 2003 (20 years old then), very memorable. so i decided to put it in youtube, just bits and pieces. i call this my "wild year" because all i ever did was unleash the fire, haha, and never attempted to control myself when playing. this included the shosta 2nd concerto which i posted earlier. in this video you might see those "flying hands" which could have caused most of the missed notes, hehehe. in my 2nd and 3rd recitals for the bachelors, i think i greatly minimized those useless movements... THANKS TO PIANOSTREET.COM friends!

comment and suggestions are most welcome!

I've only listented to 2 of them so far.  The Bach is quite lovely, I hear you putting a lot of attention to shape your phrasings.  Quite enjoyable.

Altered Images is wikidly awsome!!!!!!!!!!!  ;D  8) I'd like to hear you play this when you are more enthuasitic about this music.  Can you give more info about the composer?  My suggestion about this one is to try to find and bring out hidden motifs, maybe make some scale passages a bit less formulaic, and when you need flat-non-emotional rhythm to really feel the groove.  Also there seems to be a lot of crash bang chords here, in this idom of music don't be afraid to literally hammer the piano.

Would you mind posting the score?  ;)
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

about the score, ill try to find a scanner with one of my friends and scan it. but ill be out of town for a week, so i might not be able to do it now. but put in mind that approximately 20-30% of what i played was BS. hehehe. ;D i rushed it for a national competition, it was the compulsory work.

Are you sure you were 20 years old then??
You seem much younger. 16 or something.

But anyway it was great for your first recital. I wish my first recital was like that :(
