Ligeti's etude no.13 - "l'Escalier du Diable""
on: August 18, 2006, 04:27:50 PM
I really am a bit ashamed to ask this, but does anybody know, where I can get this piece's sheet music free in the net?
I can get it from the library, of course, but it will be opened in two weeks time, so I can hardly wait...
And I also would like to know, if anyone here has played it before! Is it as hard as it sounds? What is more difficult - the technique or the notes (is it hard to learn the piece by heart)? How much time did it take you? And what do you feel when you play (or listen to) it? (Which emotions take over, or what do you think of)
Thanks for any replies :)

 Dear Sicness:
You can buy it from Schott, since it is protected by copyright. Answering your question:

(...)Is it as hard as it sounds?(...)
No: it's harder than this...  8)
I actually love all Ligeti's etudes (just look my nick), and this is no exception. Unfortunately, I don't feel able to play any of them...   :(
 Best wishes!
Player of what?
