Soundtrack of "Being there"

Has any of you seen the movie "Being there" (with Peter Sellers and Shirley MacLaine, directed by Hal Ashby)?

There is a nice piano piece that pervades the whole movie. I am assuming it was composed for the movie by Johnny Mindell (who composed the soundtrack), but I may be wrong. Can anyone identify this piece? (unless it is an original by Mindell, of course).

Does anyone know of the existence of A CD or (even better) a score for it? It doesn't seem to exist...

Bernard:  Sorry to resurrect a post so old, but I can't resist.  I found this note from you while searching on 'movie score'.  (I'm trying to find the score to the piano music in "The Third Miracle").  Anyway, "Being There" is probably my favorite movie.  Just had to say that.  The first time I saw it, I was dumbfounded at the incredible mastery of Peter Sellers and have watched this movie countless times since.  In fact, I guess I'd better go watch it again soon.  Thanks for reminding me.  I don't know anything about the music to it (yet), but suspect it was unconsciously part of the remarkable draw the movie had for me.   Now back to my regularly scheduled search... flip, flip, flip... dang... flip... flip... nope... flip, flip... dang... flip...

I was already middle aged...

Thank you for the link. That was actually very useful. First it seems that there is no sheet music for it after all, and second, the guy is right, the second piece (the one that is played at the end credits) is certainly a version os Satie's Gnossiene no. 5. It is a very different version, I must say, but certainly recognisable.

I have the sheet music for Satie's Gnossienne 4 and 5. I believe 4 is the other piece in the film, which is one of my all time favorites. 5 was heavily transposed, but 4 is used virtually note for note. I think the G# in the third and fourth measures become an A, which is much more lyrical.

I like Gnossienne 1 as well, and the way Satie writes his music in general.
