if you are promoting piano by ear - i'd suggest you move over there.  just kidding.  ok.  hello!  now what.  do we have to read the whole thing?

say, do you have 'patterns for jazz' by jerry coker, jimmy casale, gary campbell, and jerry greene?  for students like me that are duds with jazz - because of playing so much classical music - it is a GREAT book.  here's the chapters:
1. major triads
2. major sixth chords
3. major seventh and ninth chords
4. major scales
5. digital patterns in major
6. major scale intervals
7. patterns with embellishing tones
8. diatonic chords
9. dominant seventh and ninth chords
10. mixolydian mode
11. minor triads
12. minor sixth chords
13. minor seventh and ninth chords
14. dorian mode
15. digital patterns on minor seventh chords
16. patterns for the IIm7 to V7 progression
17. patterns for the IIm7 to V7 to I progression
18. augmented triads
19. whole-tone scale
20. diminished triads
21. diminished scale
22. parallel progressions
23. turnarounds
24. altered ninth chords
25. polychords
26. polychords for diminished scale
27. more on the diminished scale
28. augmented scale
29. major scale in fourths
30. digital pattern on major scale
31. harmonic minor scale
32. more on the whole-tone scale
33. lydian augmented scale
34. interval studies
35. chromatic scale

it gives little repeating riffs of all sorts in each of these 'chapters' and is very easy to understand.

Almost, but the difference here is that this method is TOTALLY NEW AND NEVER HEARD OF BY ANY PIANIST UP UNTIL NOW!!!!!  As opposed to that yawn-inducing tried-and-true method going by the name of craft!
