Bernhard's list of pedagogic difficulty for the entire WTC ranks this particular prelude and fugue as the easiest. However, when Glenn Gould recorded the WTC, he played this prelude at an INSANE speed, way faster than any other rec I've heard and certainly way faster than the suggested tempo marking.
My questions: First, if played at this speed is this still the easiest prelude and fugue?, and second: What do you think of Gould's different interpretation?
