Help me with choosing a digital piano
on: September 10, 2006, 01:29:58 PM
Please  :)

Yesterday I went to a shop with some digital piano's. With my budget of $1200 these are my favourites:

Yamaha DGX 620 ($1020)
Korg Sp 250 (950 $)
Roland Fp-2 ($1330)

So that was one shop...many more to go :p But what piano do you prefer from those three and what pianos do you recommend with this budget?

Thank you, Jordy

Dear franz

What exactly is the difference between portable and stage?

And I have an acoustic piano to, so I don't need a very expensive digital piano. It is for in the weekends when I am with my mother. So it is for very short practise sessions. I like the yamaha DGX 620, somebody has experience with this one?

about a year ago i had the same problem as you :)

I went to a HUGE musicstore here in Belgium and played the digitals within my price range over and over again...

Until I concluded that the Yamaha was brighter, the 'heaviness' of the keys were better then roland and the others.

Roland had that awfull effect on their piano sound , like reverb or something, Yamaha was definetely sharper, brighter and for me better.

I bought myself the P-90 that time for 1200$ while the roland was more expensive
