Recommended book: The Perfect Wrong Note

Hi all.

In the course of my quest for music theory and insights, I recently read "The Perfect Wrong Note: Learning to Trust Your Musical Self" by William Westney. I'm relatively new to piano, yet I highly recommend this book as it espouses many of the principles discussed here. For instance, practice something for 20 minutes, then take a breather.

It is a non-traditional approach that sheds conceptual light on effective practice and approach to piano.  As I read through it, I could actually 'hear' some of the similar threads I read on here, whether posted by Bernhard or others.

Hope it helps others with similar insight it has given me.

I've also read that book. I highly recommend it as well. If it doesn't change the way you think about practicing, it will at least offer an interesting alternative perspective.

I also enjoyed this book. I like the "detective story" aspect to first observing and then finding why a note is fumbled in a piece I supposedly "know" (wrong fingering, misunderstood harmony....). I enjoy intelligent practice.
