Happy Birthday Shostakovich

September 25th is, or was, Shostakovich's 100th Birthday. I forgot to post this yesterday so Happy Belated Birthday.

I was sitting in my car listening to 3rd movement of the 4th symphony.  Outside the sky was dark, and there was a steady rain with water flowing down the edges of the streets.  Perfectly fitting background for the dark, mysterious coda at the end of that movement.
