Lets help each other out with sheet music
on: January 21, 2004, 03:17:27 AM
Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd start a hread for the "sharing" of sheet music (so we can all save a little money). So if you have any requests of people to borrow some sheet music just post it here, and hopefully everyone will be helpful enough to lend a hand if they can. Also if you know any good free sheet music download sites post them here as well. (the sheet music archive has a lot but not everything so some pieces might need to be shared).

To start off here are two good sites that I know of:

https://www.sheetmusicarchive.net
https://jeanies_home_studio.tripod.com/music/id13.html

And the piece that I'm looking for right now and can't find on the web is Tchaikovsky's Baracolle Op. 37b, No. 6(also called June from The Seasons).

Please help each other (and me) out, I have a lot to share as well.

Download the zip for June.  This isn't a PDF but zipped images.  They will print out cleaner than they look.

That's the beauty of foreign sites.  You might get screwed for having the "pirated" material on your computer.  The risk is very small though.
For the prelude:

As many of you probably know, copyrights run out after 75 years. Therefore there we be a good deal of pre-1929 music but after that it will most likely be illegal,

I found a site that has all of Ornstein's sheet music available for download.  I downloaded his Sonata 7, written in 1988.  Would that be illegal?

Yes, definitely.  I have never heard of anyone getting busted for downloading copyrighted sheet music though.  It also depends on where you are.  In the United States any music with a copyright date before 1923 is in the public domain.  here is an FAQ for public domain stuff.https://www.pdinfo.com/faq.htm

Hey everybody,

Right now I'm looking for a piece called Toccatta by A. khachaturian. If anyone knows where I can get it that would be very helpful, because if I can't find it in the next day or so I'm going to go buy it. ttp://notes.tarakanov.net/ might have it but I can't read the language it's in (help would be great 6th_Gen_Beethoven) thanks

ps. if there is more than one toccata by khachaturian it's most likely the most popular one that I'm looking for.

Thanks for the toccata, and yes Ed I would really like to hear it. I've only found one recording of it on the net and it's in a really crappy midi format. So I'd like to hear what it is "supposed" to sound like.
Thanks again,
TS

Chopiabin, I've got the sheet music to Un Sospiro, but it's got my scribbles all over it (and I mean all over it). Are you interested? If so, message me.

Now it's my turn to make a request.  I am wondering if anyone has the Rachmaninoff Cello Sonata op.19, the Faure piano trio op.120, or the Chopin cello sonatas and trio.  If anyone can provide these, they will be richly rewarded from my vast library of scores.

I can scan in my copy of Un Sospiro.  I did number the measures but it's lightly and in pencil so I can probably just adjust the color on the scan so it doesn't show or something.

Anyone have a copy of Liszt's La leggierezza
