Pathetique

I'd like to start learning Beethoven's Pathetique Sonata, starting with the first movement. I can already play through the second movement, so now I'd like to work on the first. Here are my obstacles: tremolos, fast playing, things along those lines. I have not ever played any piece of music that is faster than andante, if that gives you any idea. I'd like some help in this. What are some good pieces to learn to prepare myself to learn this piece? What exercises would best help me when learning this piece?

Very good choice I must say.

This is one of the very few pieces that has been recorded by countless professionals  but it´s still
possible for an amateur to do the best recording ever.

In other words: There are extremely few great recordings out there if you ask me.

A teacher could give you more specific instructions but start with a slow tempo and take your time to understand everything since there are so many things that you can do with this work.

I personally love to put an accelerando after half of the Adagio cantabile movement and everything gets faster and faster until the Rondo comes.
