i don't have his cd of chopin but i have heard him live with French music.

good pianist! he played Ravel Concerto in G here in Manila during the French Spring. he also had a solo recital. he plays french music the way it should be, imo. i attended his masterclass at the university where i was yet a student. he needed a translator, couldn't speak english that well.

i have a friend who personally knows a very important French guy here in the country. This french guy invited Alexander Tharaud for dinner at his place, and guess what, we were invited too. yipee!
we never expected that we'd play that night for Tharaud. so after all the food we ate and wine we drank, and being TIPSY already, i played brahms intermezzo in A major op. 118, no. 2....... guess what happens next.... i make this memory slip which made me stop abruptly.... helplessly, i looked at all of them, especially at Alexander's facial expression which showed that he was close to LOL, and said, "I'm sorry.. I'd like to do it again from the top!"

lol!

so much for my claim to fame...
Well, keep going.<br />- Martha Argerich
