How important is Piano Forum to you?

I could live without it
It is interesting and fun but not badly necessary
it is an important source of knowledge and entertainment and i would miss it if wouldn't exist
I love it and it's an important part of my daily life
Life would be senseless and empty without Piano Forum and I would quit the piano

Greetings.

I am not going to subject myself to voting on this pole, but will try to address your forum-dependency inquiry on the account of my own opinions.

I most definately could live without the forum.

The forum is interesting to the extent that it is a nexus to different opinions from many people from many places, although still retaining the quality that the forum members are still people and that all means of discussion are generally the same and with similar outcomes, if somewhat more intelligent though.

This is not an important source of knowledge due to many factors, most prominent of them being that all of the "knowledge" passed around here carries to it a certain ambiguity and all answers to inquiries concerning anything are equivocal in meaning due to the many replies that aren't always related to the truth.

Although a few things such as sheet music do come helpful, there is really nothing in this forum that could really be of help.

Life without the forum would be much better due to the extra time one has on one's hands.

The forum is somewhat entertaining though, I'll give it that.

Because I hadn't ever really looked anywhere else before, the pianoforum gives me information I would not have found otherwise.
I suppose it can be found elsewhere, but the fact that you can ask any question in one place makes it so much more fun than googling a piece of information!
maybe my vote was a bit enthusiastic.....
oh hell, I never knew so many people played the piano!

I voted, "Could live without it"

I think the forum software and format is great.  But as far as actually finding any useful information on here, so far that hasn't been the case.  I've gotten all my sheet music from other sources, and usually when I have a question about playing the piano all I get is either, "Get a Teacher", or "What you are trying to do is too advanced you need to back up"

Well, I don't need people to tell me that what I'm trying to do is too advanced, I already know that.  And the response of "Get a Teacher" every time I ask for help with something is basically the same as saying, "These forums are useless, get a teacher!"

So, I find the forums fun to post to sometimes like in this thread.  But how did this thread help me with the piano?   We may as well have been talking about life on mars.

it usually takes long and complicated answers to answer single easy questions which would be simple to explain in a lesson. It's not saying, this forum is useless, but there is only so much people can do to help on it. But I agree that some just honestly can't be bothered... I believe I try to give comprehensive answers to posts when i can!
