Why have I never watched this before?
on: November 12, 2006, 10:14:53 PM
I've just come home after spending the evening working at one of the various concert halls I spend an unreasonable proportion of my life in... and the concert I was being paid to watch was the ever-wonderful Orchestra of Opera North, conducted by  Carl Davis, playing his accompaniments to two of Charlie Chaplin's short films. We had The Immigrant and The Adventurer, projected onto a cinema screen above the orchestra.

I'm now disappointed it's taken me this long to see some of Charlie Chaplin's films, I haven't laughed so much in a while... and the orchestra were on top form and the music fitted perfectly. Some days I have to pinch myself to remind myself this is actually what I do for a living...
