Happy Thanksgiving!
on: November 21, 2006, 05:38:53 PM
Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving holiday!   Let's all remember that while we do not always agree on this forum, and sometimes we get in heated debates, we all have a common love of piano and music!    Let that music be  the calming force that allows us to take this one thread and wish the best to every member of the forum today!  My best wishes to everyone for health and happiness!

Greetings.

I would assume that you wouldn't want this thread spoiled with those debates concerning Religion or politics or whatever eh? ;) Cannot lower the guard down whilst posting such threads nowadays, with certain members always giving in to their predisposed methos of supposing pleasure or thanks, that are sometimes contradictory to other member's ideas. Just a thought though.

Happy Thanksgiving. :D

Best.

oh joy.  another load of work.  four relatives are coming.  someone help!

i know it should be fun fun - but this year i'm tired.  i just want someone to come over and clean and cook for me.  i just want to sit and drink a beer and watch a ballgame (and i never watch ballgames - so that shows you how desperate i am).  why is life so hard.  why must i cook.  what happens when women just leave and go do what they want?

typical scenario - everyone rushes to the table when everything is done.  why can't they rush into the kitchen and help cook?  where are they when the bathrooms need cleaning?  i tell  you - i'm getting too old for this - and too young not to have fun.  next year i am going on a vacation.  to the bahamas.  i will drink mai tais.  i will not tell a soul where i am.

i think this is one of those recombant threads where several topics merge.  i feel depression coming on.

my fate is set because we ordered a turkey from whole foods.  one of those organic run around turkeys.  also, i bought all the 'fixins' yesterday - like the yams, etc. i even found a really bizarre dessert.  ice cream cake with cranberry sauce and corn syrup (where you boil the cranberries for 10 minutes until they 'pop').  i have to try this recipie because i've never seen a cranberry 'pop.'  anyways,  there's a cookie crumb bottom, and then a layer of ice-cream, then cranberries, then ice cream, then pistachios and the remaining cranberries.  i have decided to defy the recipie and use all flavors of ice cream instead  of vanilla.

jpianoflorida, i always complain about a day or two before thanksgiving, but once i put an apron on - i am hellfire.  i tell you, i can prepare a turkey and make it's wings do 'criss cross applesauce' - brine it (just learned that last year) - and make garlic mashed potoatoes that are better than any restaurant.  but, the thing is that every year i have to get this sort of 'gumption' up.  it's always after or during parent/teacher conferences - so i'm going to the school, going to the store, going here and there. so after the meal - i kind of slump over and slide down in my chair.

i would be very pleased to have some pianoforumers come, actually.  and - when the relatives come - i will be happy, too.  it's just the preliminary stuff.
