Well, I got what i think to be a better recording of the 3rd Kapustin Etude.  Let me know what you think.

this is definitely an improvement from the last time. you mostly have the notes down except for that bit near the end. all you need to do now is iron out a few kinks and add a bit of jazz feeling to it. it was too straight i think.however, you seem to be getting there. keep it up!

Sounds interesting, any idea how hard it is(RCM)?
That's the price you pay for being moderate in everything.  See, if I were you, my name would be Ilovepie.  But that's just me.

you cant really put a grade on kapustin, and i wouldnt know how. youd just simply need to look at the score.

Perhaps more pedal. Or does he indicate no pedal? I would like to see the score...

Ravel's Toccata from "Le Tombeau de Couperin" isolated and expanded, that's what it reminds me of...

kapustin doesnt indicate whether he wants or doesnt want pedal. however, judging from his recording, also hamelin's, pedal is to be used sparingly, if at all.

definitly sparingly on the pedal.  When I practice it I use none, however there are sections where I feel it is necessary to allow the main parts to ring.

Take Your Seat! Trifonov Plays Brahms in Berlin
