Tension In La Campanella

I have been relearning La campanella over the past few weeks. I am up to the end and I am having difficulty playing without tension in the arms with the fast octaves(mainly where the main theme comes back in with the fast octaves in the right hand). Anyone who has played this piece, how did you get past that? I am trying Hanon (part 3) wrist exercises with thirds, sixths and octaves, It helps a bit but I'm still no Yundi Li.

How does Yundi Li play those octaves so damn fast? there must be a way.

Try to read those links I have sendt you. They may actually work. Using the wrist alone is wrong. You do also have to use the arm.

It would be better if it was specific.. With the 454 movement on the right hand, I find that it is easier to move your arm instead of attempting to move 4,5,4. Hmm, hard to explain...... sorry, thats the only explanation I can give you

can I just point out that this looks like the harder version of La Campanella.

anyone i know who can play this piece plays the other version.

And instead of using Hanon, which is of course useless, try Chopin's Etude op.25 nº 10 as preparation.
